Want more movement in your life, but don't know where or how to begin? Do you feel as if you're not "enough" of something -- fit "enough", agile "enough", coordinated "enough"? Believe me, I have a pretty good idea of what that's like.

In 2008, desperate to enact positive change in my life, I typed the word "dance" and "West Seattle" into Google's search field, and the first result was a Nia class. My virgin voyage with Nia was a rocky one. I stepped in gingerly, felt awkward and couldn't execute a single turn. But a tiny voice inside told me to go to the next class...and the next... and today, I am a certified Nia Black Belt instructor with additional training in Nia 5 Stages and 52 Moves. Nia has increased my level of flexibility, helped me trust in my agility, allow me to appreciate the healing aspect of mobility, and fortified my mind, body, emotions and spirit by encouraging me to celebrate my connections to strength and stability.

Sharing the joy of Nia is a tremendous experience, and I love helping people get to know and love their bodies as they are, while appreciating what is possible. Regardless of your age, fitness level, size or shape, know that you are enough when you step in to a class with me -- because groove is in the heart!

You can dance with me at Move2Center Studio, 3618 SW Alaska Street in West Seattle. Our studio is located in the lower level of the West Seattle Veterans Center. Entrance is on 37th Ave. SW.
