Susan Tate

Susan Tate discovered Nia in 1997 while she was the Director of Health Promotion and assistant professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia. A certified black belt Nia instructor, and Nia Five Stages of Self-Healing instructor, Susan completed all of her trainings with The Nia Technique co-creators Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas and has been teaching since 1999. She teaches Nia internationally and most recently presented her signature workshop, Igniting the Power of the Pelvis Nia, in Seattle, Hawaii, Belgium, New York City, Washington DC, and Toronto.

Susan is currently teaching classes at M'Illumino in Seattle and the Ballet Academy of Perfroming Arts in Edmonds. 

Susan is an author, teacher, and wellness visionary. She also works under the guidance of Dr. Christiane Northrup as a part of Team Northrup and is a certified WellPRO International Wellness Coach. 

Susan is the author or four health-related books, including Wellness Wisdom: 31 Ways to Nourish Your Mind, Body, and Spirit (2007, 2011) and Into the Mouths of Babes: A whole foods nutrition guide to nourishing your infants & toddlers (1984, 1995, 2013). She has two grown children and delights in being a dancing grandmother!
